Miike no Yu

Miike no Yu is a family-oriented hot spring facility with all private baths located in Oku-Kirishima Onsen Village, Takaharu Town, Nishimorokata District, Miyazaki Prefecture. The facility was renovated and reopened in October 2021 under new management with updated facilities. It features 13 private bath rooms in total: 5 rooms with indoor baths only, 5 rooms with outdoor baths, and 3 rooms with saunas, catering to diverse needs.

The facility's greatest feature is its 100% natural flowing hot spring water. The spring quality is sodium-magnesium bicarbonate spring, known as a 'beautiful skin hot spring,' reputed to leave skin feeling smooth after bathing. The water is brownish tea-colored with a characteristic iron scent. The indoor baths are kept hot, while the outdoor baths are set at a cooler temperature of around 31°C, offering different bathing experiences.

The main advantage of family baths is the ability to enjoy the hot spring in complete privacy. Each bathing room is completely drained and cleaned after each use, ensuring hygiene. The facility is particularly popular with families with small children, couples, and groups of friends who value privacy.

In 2023, new family bath rooms with saunas were added, allowing guests to enjoy both hot springs and saunas. The sauna-equipped rooms are available for 2-hour sessions and are well-received for their refreshing effects on both body and mind. The facility also features an adjacent campground, enabling visitors to combine outdoor activities with hot spring bathing.

The pricing structure is clear: family baths with indoor bath only cost 1,650 yen for 60 minutes, while rooms with outdoor bath and cold bath cost 2,500 yen for 60 minutes, making it an affordable option. A general public bath is also available for 450 yen, making it a popular casual stop for local residents.

Located in the nature-rich Oku-Kirishima Onsen Village, surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Kirishima mountain range, the facility offers a quiet location where visitors can forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend relaxing time.
