Kobayashi Onsen Bijin no Yu

Bijin no Yu is a day-use hot spring facility in Tsutsumi, Kobayashi City, Miyazaki Prefecture, operated by the social welfare corporation Tokiwa-kai. It draws on a source called Hinamori Onsen, which wells up at the foot of the Kirishima mountains. A public bathhouse with parking for 70 cars, it serves local regulars as well as day visitors from across the prefecture. A separate building holds nine fully private family baths.

The water is a sodium bicarbonate spring emerging at 45.7C, classed as a hot spring. The facility describes it as natural, free-flowing and 100 percent source water. Listed benefits for bathing include neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, poor circulation, fatigue and chronic skin conditions, while the drinking benefits cover chronic digestive complaints, diabetes, gout and liver disease.

The bathhouse offers a large indoor bath and an open-air bath, along with a walking bath, a bubble bath, a jet bath, a sauna and a cold plunge. The men's side adds an iron-kettle tub. Shampoo, body soap and hair dryers are provided. Admission is 550 yen for adults (junior high school and older) and 300 yen for children aged 3 to elementary school; a full-day pass is 800 yen and 400 yen. Hours are 11:00 to 21:00 with last entry at 20:30. Guests with tattoos are not admitted.
