Nakamiya Onsen Nishiyama Ryokan
Hot Spring Overview
Located at the entrance to the Hakusan Chugu Trail in Hakusan National Park at an elevation of 700 meters, this mountain hot spring inn offers a serene retreat. The spring water is a sodium-chloride and bicarbonate spring (containing sodium bicarbonate and weak salt), with a source temperature of 65 degrees Celsius. The naturally flowing spring water requires no additional heating or dilution and is safe for drinking. Known as the 'Hot Spring for the Stomach' since its founding, it has been cherished as one of Japan's secluded hot springs. The indoor baths feature all-cypress construction for both men and women, while the outdoor baths are cypress barrel baths offering mountain views. The special hot spring rice porridge cooked with spring water is highly popular. A member of the Japan Association of Secluded Hot Springs, the inn operates seasonally from late April to late November, closing during winter when the Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road is closed.
