Iwama Onsen Yamazaki Ryokan
Hot Spring Overview
Located at the foot of Mount Hakusan, one of Japan's three sacred mountains along with Mount Fuji and Mount Tateyama, Iwama Onsen Yamazaki Ryokan is a secluded hot spring inn. Situated near the Ishikawa Prefecture entrance of the Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road at approximately 800 meters elevation, this isolated inn offers a true retreat into nature. The sodium-chloride spring water emerges at 93-97 degrees Celsius with an abundant flow of 600 liters per minute. The colorless, nearly odorless water is 100% natural kakenagashi (free-flowing source) with no circulation, dilution, or additional heating. The hot spring is available 24 hours and is also potable. The famous mixed-gender outdoor bath has no roof, offering unobstructed views of the starry sky and surrounding greenery. The spring is known to be effective for anemia, neuralgia, rheumatism, gastrointestinal disorders, and chronic skin conditions. A member of the Japan Association of Secluded Hot Springs, the inn operates seasonally from June to November.
