Kahadakyo Onsen Iitaka no Yu

Kahadakyo Onsen Iitaka no Yu is a day-trip natural hot spring facility located within the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) Iitaka-eki in Iitaka-cho Miyamae, Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. The roadside station originally opened in July 1990 as a local specialty shop and was registered as the first Michi-no-Eki in Mie Prefecture in 1993. The hot spring facility was added in 2004 and has since been a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Nestled along the clear waters of the Kushida River amid the lush natural scenery of the Kahadakyo Gorge, the facility offers beautiful mountain views throughout the four seasons.

The spring water is classified as a carbon dioxide-containing sodium chloride and bicarbonate cold mineral spring (hypotonic neutral cold mineral spring) with a source temperature of 20.3 degrees Celsius and a pH of 6.5. The colorless, transparent, tasteless, and odorless water is known for its lasting warming effect after bathing, with therapeutic benefits for high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, neuralgia, joint pain, cold sensitivity, fatigue recovery, chronic gynecological conditions, and skin ailments.

The facility boasts 18 tubs of 11 different types, including indoor baths (main bath, kettle bath, steam box, herbal bath), outdoor baths (rock bath, wooden bath, waterfall shower), reclining bath, jar bath, sauna, and cold water bath. The Akayuwa no Yu section with the wooden bath and the Tsubone no Yu section with the reclining bath alternate between men and women on odd and even days. Day-trip bathing fees are 870 yen for adults, 630 yen for seniors (65+) and disabled visitors, 490 yen for children (ages 4 to elementary school), and free for children aged 3 and under. Hours are 10:00-20:45 (last entry 20:00), closed every Wednesday (or the following weekday if Wednesday is a holiday) and December 31-January 1.
