Hinotani Onsen Misugi Resort

Hinotani Onsen is a hot spring located within Misugi Resort, a comprehensive leisure facility nestled in the lush natural surroundings of Muro-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park in Misugi-cho, Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. The Misugi area is a tranquil mountain village in the western part of Mie Prefecture, set among the Nunobiki Mountain Range. Hinotani Onsen is recognized as one of the springs comprising the Naka-Ise Onsen District.

The water is classified as sodium bicarbonate spring with a pH of 8.6, placing it in the alkaline category. The source temperature is 17.5 degrees Celsius, making it a cold mineral spring that is heated before use. The flow rate is 32 liters per minute. Sodium bicarbonate springs are renowned as beauty springs, with a soap-like cleansing action that removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores, leaving the skin smooth and refreshed. Therapeutic indications include muscle pain, neuralgia, joint pain, poor circulation, digestive disorders, chronic skin conditions, fatigue recovery, and general health improvement.

The bathing facility features four indoor baths including a cypress wood bath, volcanic rock bath, and Iga-yaki pottery tub bath, along with one large open-air bath, a cold plunge pool, sauna, and reclining bath. A private open-air bath accommodating up to 20 people is available for 3,300 yen per 45-minute session. The resort also offers a unique beer bath experience in collaboration with the on-site Hinotani Beer brewery. Day-trip bathing costs 1,200 yen for adults, 800 yen for elementary school children, and 600 yen for children aged 3 and above. Accommodation is available at Hotel ANNEX and Fire Valley Cottages.
