Dogo Onsen Tsubaki-no-Yu

Hot Spring Overview
Dogo Onsen Tsubaki-no-Yu is a public bathhouse beloved as the locals friendly bath by Matsuyama citizens. It was built in 1953 for the 8th National Sports Festival, renovated in 1984, and reopened after renewal in December 2017. Located in the center of Dogo Shopping Street, it features a calm storehouse-style exterior. The unique L-shaped building has high ceilings in the bathing area, creating an open and spacious atmosphere. As a sister facility to Dogo Onsen Honkan, it has a hot water pot made of granite in the same style as the main building, inscribed with a haiku by Masaoka Shiki, a poet from Matsuyama. The water is alkaline simple hot spring (pH 9.1), featuring source-flowing water without heating or dilution, just like Honkan. It is a local favorite bathhouse where visitors can enjoy authentic Dogo Onsen at affordable prices.
