Nakatsu-keikoku Yunomori
Hot Spring Overview
Yunomori is a hot spring inn located along the Nakatsu River, a tributary of the Niyodo River famed for its miraculous emerald-blue waters known as Niyodo Blue, in Niyodogawa Town, Agawa District, Kochi Prefecture. Built at the entrance to Nakatsu Gorge just off National Route 33, the calm wooden architecture uses lumber sourced locally in Niyodogawa Town. The inn offers four 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms in the main building and three Western twin cottages, accommodating both overnight guests and day-trip bathers. The spring is classified as alkaline simple sulfur cold mineral spring with a source temperature of 21.1 degrees Celsius and a flow rate of 54 liters per minute. It is said to be effective for chronic skin and gynecological conditions, neuralgia, joint pain, frozen shoulder, diabetes, and cuts, with a gentle silky touch on the skin. The facility features gender-separated indoor and open-air baths, and the open-air baths offer views of the lush gorge by day and a brilliant starry sky by night. The on-site restaurant PONTE serves local cuisine, making it a popular destination where guests can enjoy hot springs, gorge walks, and dining all in one visit.
