Dogo Onsen Asuka-no-Yu is a new bathhouse that opened in September 2017, featuring architectural styles from the Asuka period. The design pays homage to the legends and history of Dogo Onsen, including Prince Shotoku's visit and Empress Saimei's imperial procession. The main bath features ceramic tile murals made of Tobe-yaki, a traditional Ehime craft, and showcases regional traditional crafts throughout the beautiful space. The first floor houses the main bath and outdoor bath, while the second floor offers a 60-tatami rest hall and five private rest rooms. The special bathing room recreates the imperial bathhouse Yushinden for a luxurious experience. The water is alkaline simple hot spring, the same source-flowing beautifying bath as Dogo Onsen Honkan. With pH 9.3, the smooth water is gentle on the skin and expected to have beautifying effects.
