Miyama Onsen Wakuwaku no Yu is a day-trip hot spring facility attached to Minshuku Miyama in the Hirao area of Yamanouchi Town, Nagano Prefecture, located at the gateway to Shiga Kogen. The facility uses 100% free-flowing hot spring water from its own source on the premises, featuring a high-temperature spring of 91.2°C. The water quality is sulfur-containing sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate spring (hydrogen sulfide type) with a neutral pH of 7.25. The bath features large orange cotton-like yu-no-hana (mineral deposits) floating in the water with a burnt sulfur smell. To allow guests to experience nature, the facility only has outdoor baths with no indoor baths. You can enjoy bathing while viewing the scenery of all four seasons, and in winter, you can enjoy a snow-viewing bath. It is an unmanned facility where you purchase bath tickets from a vending machine and pass through a ticket gate. The spring is said to be effective for neuralgia, back pain, cuts, and burns. The location is ideal for stopping by after sightseeing or skiing, with good access to Shiga Kogen ski resort and Yudanaka hot spring town.
