Okuine Onsen Aburaya Bekkan Nagomitei
Hot Spring Overview
Nagomitei is a 12-room hot spring inn on the eastern coast of the Tango Peninsula, in Tsumo, Ine Town, Kyoto Prefecture. It stands on a bluff overlooking the Sea of Japan just north of Ineura, the bay famous for its funaya boat houses, and opened in 2004 as the annex of Okuine Onsen Aburaya. Run as an adults-only retreat that does not accept guests under 12, it serves both dinner and breakfast in the rooms.
The source is named Okuine Nagomi Onsen, and the water is classified as a sodium bicarbonate spring (hypotonic, weakly alkaline) with a pH of 8.40. It contains 1,288 mg of bicarbonate ions along with metasilicic acid, giving the water the silky feel that earns it a reputation as a beauty bath. The inn draws on its own privately drilled source, separate from the one used by the main Aburaya building.
The 12 rooms comprise seven Japanese-style rooms, four Japanese-Western rooms and one suite, and every one has a private open-air bath fed directly by the source with a view of the sea. A panoramic open-air bath and separate large baths for men and women are available from 15:00 until 9:00 the following morning. Rates start at 38,500 yen per person per night with two meals, based on two people sharing a room, and parking is free for 50 cars. Day-trip bathing is not offered.
