Noyu are hot springs that bubble up naturally in the wild — in mountains, riverbeds, or forests — without any facility or operator managing them. There are no changing rooms or maintained baths, so water level and temperature shift with the season and weather. Reaching one is often part of the experience, including the hike and the scenery along the way.

Many noyu sit on private land, inside national parks, or near hazardous terrain. Stay out of restricted areas, check conditions such as flooding, volcanic activity, and wildlife risk beforehand, follow local etiquette, take your trash with you, and visit entirely at your own risk.
