A hot spring ryokan located at approximately 1,100m elevation within Daisetsuzan National Park in Higashikawa Town, Kamikawa District, Hokkaido. Established in 1914 (Taisho 3), it is known as a member inn of the Japan Secret Hot Springs Association.
With 5 private hot spring sources producing over 300 liters per minute, the spring types are diverse including sulfate spring (magnesium), gypsum spring (calcium), bicarbonate spring (alkali metal), and green vitriol spring (iron). The sulfate spring containing boric acid is particularly rare nationwide.
Day-trip bathing is available at the annex 'Kamigami no Yu' (Gods' Bath), usable after activities like mountain climbing, skiing, or forest walks. Beloved by many hot spring enthusiasts as a supreme hot spring surrounded by the magnificent nature of Daisetsuzan.
From JR Asahikawa Station, 27 minutes by Dohoku Bus to Michikusakan, then transfer to Ideyu-go bus for 40 minutes. By car, 60 minutes from Asahikawa Station or 75 minutes (about 55km) from Asahikawa-Takasu IC via National Route 12 and Prefectural Road 1160.
