Genroku Hatago Aburaya is a historic inn established in 1688 (the first year of the Genroku era) in the Yubara Onsen district of Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture. In the days when Yubara flourished as a post town on the highway connecting the San-in Road with Mount Daisen and Kurayoshi, the inn earned its name 'Aburaya' (oil house) by keeping lanterns lit through the night and providing travelers with oil for their journey. The inn carries over 330 years of distinguished history.

The spring water is classified as a low-tension alkaline high-temperature spring (alkaline simple hot spring) with a pH above 9.0. The water has a characteristically silky, slippery texture even without soap, and is renowned for its skin-beautifying properties. The Shokutokan bathhouse delivers source water directly from underground springs to all baths in a free-flowing kakenagashi style, ensuring bathers enjoy the freshest possible water. Therapeutic indications include rheumatoid arthritis, lower back pain, neuralgia, cold sensitivity, diabetes, fatigue recovery, and general health improvement.

The inn operates two buildings with seven rooms: the accommodation wing 'Musuian' and the dining and bathing facility 'Shokutokan,' accepting a maximum of seven groups per day. All rooms are equipped with private baths fed by free-flowing source water, and guests can bathe while gazing at the Asahi River from their rooms. The main bath 'Iroha no Yu' features a semi-open-air bath and indoor bath for men, and an open-air bath and indoor bath for women. Day-trip bathing is available for 1,100 yen per adult from 12:00 to 16:00, and the private family bath 'Yakuo-yu' can be reserved for 5,500 yen per 60 minutes.
