Tsumayu (Genusen Kakenagashi Onsen Tsumayu)

Tsumayu is a day-use hot spring facility in Tsukidono, Saito City, Miyazaki Prefecture, at the foot of the Saitobaru Burial Mounds, a Special Historic Site. Drilling began in July 2014, and in May 2015, after about ten months, hot water was struck at a depth of 1,483 meters. The spring was named Tsumayu, and the facility held its grand opening in April 2019.

The water is a sodium bicarbonate type (weakly alkaline) with a source temperature of 46.1 degrees Celsius and a flow of about 300 liters per minute. It is clear, tasteless and odorless, and flows straight from the source with no added heat or water.

The baths include indoor baths, an open-air rock bath, a cool bath of about 30 degrees Celsius, a cypress-scented dry sauna (three-tier benches, about 20 people), a groundwater cold plunge and an outdoor cooling area. A restaurant serving local ingredients is attached, and parking holds about 180 cars. Admission is 900 yen for adults and 500 yen for children. Open 10:00 to 22:00, closed on Tuesdays (open if Tuesday is a national holiday).
