Kurokawa Onsen Bijin-no-Yu
Hot Spring Overview
Kurokawa Onsen Bijin-no-Yu (Beauty Hot Spring) is a day-trip hot spring facility nestled deep in the Ikuno Gorge of Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture, at the foot of Kurokawa Dam. The hot spring water originates from the flower garden of the adjacent Daimyoji Temple, a prestigious Zen temple founded in 1367 by the monk Getsu-an from Mino Province. The spring quality is alkaline simple hot spring, rich in hydrogen carbonate ions, which gives the water a viscous quality that is gentle on the skin, earning it the name 'Bijin-no-Yu' (Beauty Hot Spring) for its skin-smoothing properties. The source temperature is 26.3 degrees Celsius, and the water is heated and provided as free-flowing. The flow rate is 16 liters per minute. The facility features both indoor and outdoor baths, where guests can enjoy bathing while admiring the beautiful natural scenery of the Ikuno Gorge. The gorge is stunning in all seasons, with fresh greenery in spring and vibrant foliage in autumn. The waters are said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, chronic digestive diseases, sensitivity to cold, and fatigue recovery. A restaurant and rest area are also available on-site. The facility is conveniently located near tourist attractions such as Takeda Castle Ruins and Ikuno Silver Mine.
