Tateyama Kogen Hotel
Hot Spring Overview
Tateyama Kogen Hotel is a mountain resort situated at 2,300 meters above sea level at Tengudaira along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, offering panoramic views of Mount Tsurugi and the peaks of the Tateyama Mountain Range. Opened in 1975 and renovated in 1996, the hotel sits between Murodo and Midagahara, just 5 minutes by bus from Murodo Station and about 40 minutes from Bijodaira Station.
The large observation bath is not a natural hot spring but uses natural spring water drawn from near Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and heated for bathing. Guests can enjoy views of the magnificent Tateyama peaks including Mount Tsurugi while bathing, with a sauna also available. The gender-separated baths accommodate 20 bathers each, operating from 5:00-8:00 and 15:00-23:00.
Guest rooms include 27 rooms in various configurations — Japanese-style tatami rooms, twin, triple, 4-bed rooms, and loft rooms. Restaurant Tateyama serves cuisine featuring both mountain and seafood delicacies. The hotel operates from late April to early November. Credit cards (VISA, UC, DC, etc.) are accepted.
