Kitahara-so, located in Toga Village, Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, is a secluded hot spring in the Shogawa Gorge, established in 1985 for regional revitalization. The inn features free-flowing natural spring water without any dilution, nurtured by the mountains of Shogawa Gorge. The water quality is alkaline simple thermal spring, known as a skin-beautifying spring that leaves skin silky smooth, especially popular among women. At dusk, the romantic lamplight creates a magical atmosphere, and the mountain outdoor bath offers an extraordinary and healing space for complete relaxation. Two baths called Yuru-no-Yu and Yuri-no-Yu are available, said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, cold sensitivity, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, chronic digestive disorders, and fatigue recovery. Located about 40 minutes by car from the World Heritage Gokayama Gassho-style villages, it serves as a convenient base for sightseeing. The inn has obtained the Toyama Safe Inn certification.
