Kyomachi Onsen Gyokusenkan

Kyomachi Onsen Gyokusenkan is a historic hot spring inn located in the Kyomachi Onsen area of Ebino City, Miyazaki Prefecture, established in 1915 (Taisho 4). With over 100 years of history, the inn was relocated to its current location in 1953 (Showa 28) and renovated after the 1968 Ebino earthquake. Its convenient location just a 2-minute walk from JR Kyomachi Onsen Station and along National Route 268 makes it an ideal base for travelers exploring Miyazaki, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima prefectures.

The inn's most distinctive feature is the mysterious cave bath, also known as 'Supponpon-buro.' This rare bathing facility utilizes a natural cave and offers 24-hour access to natural flowing hot spring water. The spring quality is alkaline simple hot spring, known for its effectiveness in relieving muscle pain and promoting beautiful skin. In addition to the cave bath, there are three bathing facilities available 24 hours: an open-air bath (available for private use), separate public baths for men and women, and a family bath.

The inn prides itself on being a 'relaxing, down-to-earth lodging' where guests can feel as comfortable as at home in their Japanese-style and Western-style rooms. The cuisine is highly regarded, welcoming guests with warm dishes made with homegrown vegetables. Dinner features a nine-course kaiseki meal centered on teppan-yaki, with a 'grade-up kaiseki' option including Kurobuta (black pork) shabu-shabu.
