Located in Asama Onsen, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, 'Yuyuan Biwa no Yu' is a day-trip hot spring facility with approximately 430 years of history, reviving the palatial bathhouse favored by Matsumoto Castle lords Ishikawa Kazumasa and Yasunaga since 1594. Once the exclusive bathhouse of Matsumoto Castle lords, it holds a distinguished presence in Asama Onsen, known as 'the inner parlor of Matsumoto.' The water quality is alkaline simple hot spring with a pH of 8.8-8.9 and source temperature of approximately 49-50 degrees Celsius. The clear, colorless, smooth water has excellent skin-beautifying properties. The facility features elegant cypress open-air baths in gender-separated main bathhouses, plus rustic outdoor baths (one each for men and women), along with bubble baths, saunas, and cold water baths. Inside, guests can enjoy the garden-facing cafe 'MARUKURU' and the reservation-only Japanese restaurant 'Sousoan.' Private baths are also available.
