A privately-operated day-trip hot spring facility in Rankoshi Town, Isoya District, Hokkaido, hand-built over more than 10 years by a farmer. Hayashi Katsuro, a rice farmer in Rankoshi Town (famous for 'Rankoshi Rice'), has painstakingly hand-crafted everything from the building and bathtubs to the outdoor bath garden.
In 2002 (Heisei 14), while drilling for agricultural well water, hot spring water was accidentally discovered. Initially used for agricultural purposes, it was later developed as a hot spring facility.
The greatest feature is the spring's abundant carbon dioxide gas. Particularly in the kettle bath and reclining bath tubs, bathers are quickly enveloped in bubbles. This excellent 'bubble attachment' is highly praised among hot spring enthusiasts.
Spring quality: sodium-chloride/bicarbonate/sulfate spring (neutral hypotonic hot spring), source temperatures 36.7°C and 48.9°C, pH 6.8 (neutral). Popular as a secret hot spring where visitors can feel the warmth of handmade craftsmanship and enjoy the benefits of carbonated spring water.
