A wild hot spring (noyu) located in the mountains of Kozancho, Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido. A tatami-mat-sized bathtub sits beside the Washibetsu Raiba River, a tributary of the Iburi Horobetsu River, with hot spring water naturally flowing from the bottom.
Discovered in 1908 by Kawamata Hyokichi, a therapeutic inn was opened in 1932 by his grandson Terumitsu but was destroyed by a typhoon in 1956. It now remains as a wild hot spring.
Spring quality: gypsum-hydrogen sulfide spring, temperature about 34-36°C (lukewarm). Known as a quality hot spring for relaxed bathing.

・Must cross 4 rivers - wading footwear (beach sandals etc.) necessary
・Dangerous when water levels are high - bathing prohibited

・Avoid solo bathing - go in groups
From Horobetsu city center, about 10km on Prefectural Route 327, 4km on unpaved forest road, then 800m (20 min) walk from parking. Must wade across 4 rivers. Adequate preparation and caution required due to bear habitat.
