Shin-Noji Onsen Sagamiya Ryokan
Hot Spring Overview
Sagamiya Ryokan is a secluded one-inn hot spring nestled at an altitude of 1,230 meters within the Bandai-Asahi National Park in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. As a member of the Japan Association of Secluded Hot Spring Inns (Nihon Hitou wo Mamoru Kai), it stands in quiet solitude surrounded by virgin beech forests. Shin-Noji Onsen is located at the deepest point of the Tsuchiyu Onsen village area, where gas venting from the mountainside and the scent of sulfur create an authentic secluded hot spring atmosphere. The spring water is a simple sulfur spring (hydrogen sulfide type) with a source temperature of 88 degrees Celsius and an abundant flow rate of 120 liters per minute. The milky-white sulfur spring has been renowned since ancient times for treating gastrointestinal ailments and neuralgia, and is also effective for chronic skin diseases, chronic gynecological conditions, cuts, diabetes, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis. The facility features 4 indoor baths and 3 outdoor baths, with separate cypress baths for men and women and rustic open-air baths offering spectacular mountain views. The reinforced concrete 4-story building is equipped with an elevator, and all 15 guest rooms have private toilets. Due to the high altitude of 1,230 meters, no air conditioning is installed as the environment remains naturally cool even in summer. The ryokan operates year-round, offering enjoyment of nature in all seasons. The autumn foliage and winter snow-viewing baths are particularly spectacular. Extended stays for toji (hot spring therapy) are also available.
