Yuzanso Asankotonami

Tucked into the mountain village at the source of the Doki River, at the foot of the Asan mountain range in Manno Town, Nakatado District, Kagawa Prefecture, Yuzanso Asankotonami is a solitary inn reached along a quiet forest road. The site was formerly home to the village-run guesthouse Village Miai-kan, which opened in 1988 and closed in 2014; in May 2017 the Hotel New Awaji Group rebuilt and reopened it as Yuzanso Asankotonami.

The inn draws on its own private source, Miai Onsen, a simple carbon-dioxide cold mineral spring with a source temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius, an alkaline pH of 8.6, and a soft, clear water with a faint greenish tint. The official website describes the bath only as "filled with our private Miai Onsen spring water," without stating whether it is free-flowing or recirculated, though the use of 100% private source water is clearly emphasized.

The bathing facilities include the riverside bath Seseragi (rock bath, deep bath, reclining bath, indoor bath, and sauna) and the private open-air bath Nagomi-yu, offered in two styles, one with a sauna and one with a heated stone-bed lounge chair. Of the 28 guest rooms, four Satoyama Hut rooms welcome guests traveling with their dogs. Day-trip bathing runs from 12:30 to 16:00 for 1,800 yen (adults) and 1,000 yen (children), though it may be suspended on busy days.
