Kimita Onsen Mori no Izumi is located in Kimitacho Izumiyoshida, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The hot spring was discovered in 1988 when the former Kimita Village used the one hundred million yen allocated through the national Furusato Creation Project to drill for a hot spring source. The bathing facility opened in October 1997, situated adjacent to the Roadside Station Forest Kimita, surrounded by the lush natural environment of the Chugoku Mountains.

The spring is classified as a carbon dioxide-containing sodium-calcium bicarbonate-chloride cold mineral spring (hypotonic neutral cold mineral spring), and is known as the only sodium bicarbonate spring in Hiroshima Prefecture. The source temperature is 19.2 degrees Celsius with a pH of 6.5 and total mineral content of 4,694 mg/kg. The smooth water containing carbon dioxide gas is celebrated as a beauty spring, with therapeutic indications for skin conditions, neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, and cold sensitivity. As it is a cold mineral spring, the water is heated before being supplied to the baths.

After temporarily closing in October 2023 due to the dissolution of the former operating company, the facility underwent a complete renovation and reopened on August 1, 2024, under the new management consortium MORINOIZUMI. In addition to the indoor and outdoor baths in the men''s bath Mori no Yu and women''s bath Izumi no Yu, a new barrel sauna has been installed. The complex features accommodation, an irori dining restaurant, bakery, RV park, dog park, and various other facilities. Day-trip bathing is available for 800 yen for adults and 400 yen for children, from 10:00 to 20:30 with last entry at 20:00. Closed on Tuesdays.
