Owani Onsen Minshuku Akayu

Minshuku Akayu is a small hot spring guesthouse in the middle of Owani Onsen in Owani Town, Aomori Prefecture. Owani Onsen, southeast of the castle town of Hirosaki, flourished as a spa retreat for the Tsugaru domain, and Akayu is a three-story reinforced-concrete inn with six guest rooms on a lane in the hot spring town.

The bath is fed by the Owani integrated source, a sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate spring. The source temperature is 68.8 degrees Celsius and the pH is around 7.0, which is neutral. Mineral deposits crust the spout.

The bathroom is a tiled indoor bath that holds about four people. Day-use bathing costs 300 yen for junior high school students and older and 100 yen for elementary school children, and overnight stays are accepted.
