Yoshiike Ryokan

Located in Yumoto, Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, a seven-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, Yoshiike Ryokan occupies grounds once home to a villa of the Iwasaki family, founders of Mitsubishi. Its roughly 10,000-tsubo Japanese garden, Sangetsuen, preserves the original Iwasaki villa building and offers guests seasonal scenery alongside hot-spring bathing.

The inn draws on six privately owned hot spring sources (Yumoto No. 12, 72, 84, 89, 99, and 112, with source temperatures of 43-80C), yielding up to 720 liters per minute. The water is classified as a sodium chloride spring with a pH of 8.4, served 100% source-fed without added water or artificial heating, and is said to help relieve joint pain, neuralgia, and fatigue.

Bathing options include a garden-view open-air bath, large indoor bath, and cave bath for men, a garden-view open-air bath plus hinoki cypress and granite indoor baths for women, and two private baths. Day-use bathing runs from 13:00 to 22:00 (last entry 20:00), priced at 2,250 yen for adults and 1,650 yen for children, with free parking for 65 vehicles.
