Hakone Ginyu

Hakone Ginyu is a ryokan in Miyanoshita, Hakone Town, Kanagawa, set along the Haya River gorge at about 420 meters above sea level. It stands roughly a 3-minute walk from Miyanoshita Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway. All 20 guest rooms face the gorge, and each one has its own terrace and open-air bath.

The water is a sodium chloride spring (hypotonic, weakly alkaline, high temperature) drawn from the inn's own sources. The analysis gives a pH of 8.4 and a source temperature of 52.6 C. The private open-air bath at GinyuSpa uses 100 percent free-flowing source water with no dilution, heating or recirculation, while the large baths and in-room baths combine dilution, heating and circulation filtration.

The baths include the mountain-view infinity baths Tsukishiro and Tsukine, which swap between men and women by time slot and include a sauna, and the private open-air bath in the GinyuSpa pavilion. Overnight guests can use the large baths from 14:00 until 10:00 the next morning. Day visitors can book the private open-air bath for 30 minutes at 1,700 yen only together with a GinyuSpa treatment; bathing alone is not accepted.
