Gokase Onsen Mori no Yado Kijiya

Mori no Yado Kijiya is a hot spring inn in the Hirokino area of Sangasho, Gokase Town, in the Nishiusuki District of Miyazaki Prefecture. It sits in the mountains about 20 minutes by car from Takachiho Gorge and is one of the few places in the area that offers an onsen along with lodging. The inn has 14 guest rooms in Japanese, Western and mixed styles, and it also accepts sports training groups.

The bath uses Gokase Onsen water, an alkaline simple spring that feels soft on the skin. Its indicated benefits include relief from neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, sensitivity to cold, and fatigue.

There is one indoor bath each for men and women; there is no open-air bath or sauna. Overnight guests may bathe from 15:00 to 23:30 and from 6:30 to 9:00 the next morning. Day visitors are also welcome from 10:00 to 21:00 (from 15:00 on Wednesdays, when the facilities are serviced); please confirm the day-use fee in advance. Overnight guests pay a separate bathing tax of 150 yen. Free parking is available for about 70 cars.
