Yunohana Onsen Ishiyu

Ishiyu is a public bathhouse in Yunohana Onsen, Minamiaizu Town, Fukushima, standing beside the Yunomata River. Yunohana is a mountain hot spring village said to have been discovered in the Kamakura period, and several public baths remain in the hamlet. Ishiyu is one of them, a modest bathhouse kept up by local residents. The bathhouse was washed away in the heavy rains of October 2019, and a new one was built that December.

The water is an alkaline simple hot spring, flowing freely from the on-site source by natural discharge as pure kake-nagashi, with no recirculation. It is known as a very hot bath, so take care when getting in.

The tub holds about four people, and there is a simple shared changing room. The bath is mixed-gender. Admission is 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for children, with tickets sold at shops in the hamlet. It is open from 6:30 to 21:30 every day of the year. There is no dedicated parking lot.
