Suzu Onsen Takarayu Annex

Suzu Onsen Takarayu Annex is located in Ukai, Hotatsu-machi, Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Its predecessor, the public bathhouse Takarayu, was founded in the Meiji era, and in 1957 a 200-meter well was drilled on the site, bringing forth the Suzu Onsen Ukai No.1 spring that turned the bathhouse into a true hot spring. The main building was completely destroyed in the Noto Peninsula earthquake of January 2024, but the underground source survived, and by reconnecting the piping to the annex's family bath, the facility reopened as a reservation-only private bath on February 9.

The water is classified as a simple hot spring (tanjun-sen) with a pH of 8.2, mildly alkaline. The source temperature is around 34°C, and the water is colorless and odorless. The spring water is heated over a wood fire and served in the private bath. It is not suitable for drinking.

The facility offers only a private family bath, reservation-only and limited to five people per group. In addition to day-trip bathing, guests can stay overnight in a plain tatami room or a special room with its own private bath, and meals are also served on site.
