Shimoda Onsen Igaya Ryokan
Hot Spring Overview
Igaya Ryokan is a long-established hot spring inn in Shimoda Onsen, on the west coast of Amakusa-Shimoshima in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture. Founded in the Meiji era, it has welcomed guests for more than a century. The inn has only ten guest rooms, and dinner is served in the guest room.
The inn's motto is not to heat, dilute or recirculate its water, and the bath is fed by free-flowing source water. Please check the spring type and source temperature in advance.
The facilities include a large indoor bath and an open-air bath, and overnight guests can bathe around the clock. Parking for about ten cars is available. Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is by 10:00 a.m. A separate bathing tax applies.
